Interior lighting

Warning: newbie posting his "knowledge". Read on at your own risk. :?

Anyway, thanks to the inspiration from the week, I decided to tackle a few things in the car. Fitted some black mx-5 side repeaters tonight, very happy with the result, and will post images again.
Last night I fitted replacement lights (red) in the aircon unit, to match the red in the speedo, rev-meter existing in the car.

After that, I tried something I haven't seen before (though it probably has been done). I had got 4 red LEDs from Halfords, so was wondering what to do with them. Messing, I slipped one in the air-vent, and the effect was kinda nice. So, several hours later, after some questionable wiring and some very sore fingers, the results are here. All 4 vents are now lit (2 centre ones shown), and although the photos don't show it great, I'm fairly happy with the overall result.

The first has the vent closed, so no light comes through, and the second the vent is open. Hope you can get some idea of the effect from the crappy photos. Not sure if you'll like it, but tis different anyway!

Oh, and I've placed an order today for some nice Apex springs! :D
(That meet has cost me a lot more than the price of the petrol for the day! :smt087 .. but worth every penny! :smt023 )
