Anyone had any experience with these guys?
Aimed at 'high premium' drivers, they are supposedly offering lower premiums, the snag being that you have to take a large policy excess €4k :!:

Saw the spiel in the papers last week, would be interesting to see what quotes they come back with. From what I read, they're trying to draw in owners of expensive cars, the idea being if you can afford a 100 grand car, you're not gonna be too pushed paying a 4 grand excess.

I would have thought that the insurance for a Boxster would be the same if not cheaper than an FTO. 2500 does not sound the May West to me :(

mmm, I got quoted 1800 fully comp on a 2002 M3 by axa so that doesn't sound great on a boxster - remember the FTO is close to the highest insurance bracket there is

I'm 31 with 5 years NCD. I thought it was pretty reasonable alright - just need to count the pennies to get the 50k+ asking price together... ;)

Well done, would be a lovely car to get. Assume your in the V6 fto if your looking for that much of a power hike?
I'll be waiting a good few years before i can upgrade to something like that, insurance companies do not like people under 25!!! %$£"£

They wanted €3,000 off me for a GPX. with a 4 grand excess! twice what quinn were charging.

Seems they're only worth a look if you have 10 penalty points and a host of previous claims - i.e desperate

You must be fairly young to get a quote like that! I know of a 26 y.o. (no NCB) who insures a GPX with XS and pays about 1100 euro. I pay them 850 euro a year to cover trhe RX-7.

Jesus, thats a hell of a price for that car with reasonably low milage, thought they'd much more expensive (even for a 2 seater).

Although convert that to dollars and it would buy you a new cayenne in the states, still thats new mid size saloon price in Eire.
It'd go with my mid life crisis juuuuuuust right 8)

Stay away I say, stay away.... I've been reading a bit about them and I wonder if they're just a touch slow to justify the expenditure. Sure you get the badge, prestige and handling but would it be a touch boring only doing a 7 second 0-62 - I'm booked for a test drive on Saturday.

soc, nothing you wrote so far would put me off a flashy little porsche
I know this is an insurance topic but I'd love to hear your opinion on the car after the test drive especially compared to the FTO
I personally wouldn't about the speed too much - 7 second 0-62 - is fast enough to make me look good, leaving enough time for the ladyees to see who looks good 8)

Has anyone given these guys a go yet? Seriously thinking about when I change cars but I'm still a little unsure regarding keeping no-claims bonuses etc...

Me - I've a second policy on the RX-7 - 850 quid with a 4k excess, not for everyone but I'm happy to take the risk right now.

Possibly yeah but I'd rather not have a 4k excess on my head to be honest. I probably drive the car a bit more these days, maybe 70/30 FTO/RX-7 split...
