Seatbelt Warning

Postby pergau » Thu Aug 11, 2005 5:16 pm

This has happened to me twice now so I suppose that I'll have to do something about it.

I don't like using the seatbelt guide on the seat and one day recently I felt that the seatbelt wasn't on properly so I checked it while I was in standing traffic. I gave it a pull and next thing I knew, the back of my seat had fallen back and I was almost lying down.

The seatbelt had worked it's way under the seat back adjustment lever and when I pulled it it released the lever and sent me flying. I didn't pay much attention to this but it happened again and now I've started checking the seatbelt every time I put it on.

Has it happened to anyone else and do you have any suggestions for fixing this? I think I'll have to make some sort of a baffle to stop the belt from getting under the lever.

This has happened to me alright but not in traffic thankfully, i now check everytime i get into the car, as for a cure the only thing would be to attach some sort of a clip on the pillar about 10 inches above the bottom mount and feed it thru that to keep it away from the handle, but how this would effect during a crash i don't know, hence why i figured it was just easier to check
