Today was a good day...

Got my alarm and immobiliser fitted - woot!

Also, I have no central locking - oh no - that would be too heavy for a GPvR

Went to a guy who was recommended by a friend - quoted me 150 for full bumper respray - yay! Saw some of his work and he's good. Forgot to bloody ask him about my roof. And he'll only keep the car for 4 hours or so he said - double yay!

GPVR is supposed to have central locking, your passenger side motor is probably faulty.

No, he took the door cards out and said it's empty in there - no wiring or anything in there whatsoever...

4 hours for a bumper respray? I guess he won't be taking off the bumper then? And does he have an oven? - unlikely if he's talking about just 4 hours. You get what you pay for OI.

Sounds like a quick job to me - 1s time I had a rear bumper respray done it too 3 days... and it was still the wrong color when i got it back!!

yeah a proper respray would require at least few hours in an oven, then another coat + laquer then baked again...

Ok you guys, you've convinced me... What I saw looked well, but he has no oven, was letting them air dry, and no, the impression I got was that he wasn't taking off the bumper.

He had resprayed a purple coloured, new mazda 626, the colour matched fine tbh, but, I only want the best for my baby. Will just have to save up for Dermot O Dwyer!

And in the name of all that's holy, why would you want to rip your central locking out? The guy in the alarm place said it's very expensive to fit, so for the sake of leaning over and locking the door, I think I'll survive.
