Looks close to being finished! It actually fits quite well in there, thought it would be a lot tighter. Definatley suits the engine bay!

Anyone considering a VR-4 conversion should read this post http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... &start=520

I looks a lot simplier than I would hav e thought. Apparently you do not have to cut into the firewall like Richard Batty did with his.
The info from the guy from Barbados is interesting, he is using the GPX tranny with the VR-4 engine.

Got the engine in dublin a few years back...
Have to rebuild my GPX tranny which i have all the parts for and i'll be using that along with a modified clutch..

Its still a good bit off being finished....Still have wiring to do plus exhaust pipes etc etc...

The rear turbos protrude out past the alternator and they do hit off the firewall....I've had to bow the firewall slightly and might consider moving the brake lines etc...Depends on whether i shield them and the turbos...theres lot of other small jobs that need doing that also add up.

I dont think its as 'easy' as the guy in barbados made it out to be....Depends on the quality of work carried out I guess...

What need doing to the GPX tansmission??

Reason for all the questions is I know where I can pick up a 6A13TT for what I would consider a steal, but want to see how much work is really involved first.

I say sir! This could be a new line of business for you.
Engine Sourcing and fitting - I suspect you might get a few early orders ;-)

You never know! Let see if the first one works out.
I have just put in planning for a Garage at the rear of my house. So fingers crossed. Not very nice working out in the weather these days.

Will do.
Think I am going to get it and maybe get a good FTO shell and make a project of it. Want to keep my GPX on the road at the same time. Is a complete damaged VR4 so maybe other parts will be of use.

Did you buy the synchro's from mitsubishi or an alternative supplier. I got a crazy quote from MItsi some time back.
