fto ecu pulse issue

Postby 99casst » Thu Jun 03, 2010 12:18 am

hi guys i no to most u this may not be of help but to some of u it may due to reading a lot unanswered questions. it all started when my 3rd coil went down i had started by swapping coil, ifs sencer, leads and plugs, this was no good. i then followed and checked all wire backs and found no breaks in wires i had ruled out cam and crank only due to car running. this was getting bit out hand so i had whole system checked, scoped and ecu read to find out the ecu pin that sends the pulse to that particular coil was not pulsing i was told if this normally happens then it is due to crank sencer he sooner checked this and said it was ok followed by bad news of being a faulty ecu. so that night i put a diff ecu in at first still no good so i drove it and all sudden the car worked better than it ever did thought end of story all done till a few days a go. i was reviving lots engine error codes at diff times codes 14,22,23,and,40 i think the 2 main one i was receiving thow were crank and injector sencer after this i put two and two together and new it was pulse related due to both these codes would be thrown if i had a faulty crank sencer. i changed this and car started perfectly first time ran on all 6 in 2 days so i new the problem layed there as it come back 5 min later the source to this whole issue all trouble i had and money spent was actually sourced back to the old school way.spark delay and advance timing from the rotor blade what had happen was one roller pins had broke and was advancing or infact delaying timing. i no this may be hard to read but the source to this issue as i no people do have very simular problems was a roller pin on back of the crank sprocket breaking of and messing up the spark timing.

symptoms were:
running on less than 6 cylinders
and lots fault codes being given. some not making sence
and normal running issue relating to judders, smoking exhaust and petrol being unburnt

hope u can read and hope this may help anyone who was as stuck as i was
tom

That's the longest text message I have ever seen - it's impossible to read.

The use of proper English makes things so much easier for us all.

99cast, if you want feedback and input from forum members, you will need to make an effort to write in a way that is easily understood, your posts are very difficult to read.

Read the forum rules in relation to whats considered acceptable, of particular note:

Forum rules wrote:Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". Users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text or post in 'mobile phone text speak'.

I suggest you edit your post and type it out properly.

Got lost after 3rd sentence or 3rd line. Not too sure which.
