Facelift indicator hole foglights w/halo

Postby kevinod » Thu Sep 29, 2005 12:35 pm

Guys,

I'm looking into getting a few foglights w/halos in, size 2.75" or 69.9mm. Closest I've been able to find to fit the 72mm facelift indicator holes.

They have 55W H3 bulbs in them.

I'm thinking price will be somewhere AROUND €75 but that could go up or down.

Just gauging interest, not looking for any committments, would anyone be interested in these?

Kev.

Haven't done mine yet... ended up getting downpipes (arrived a few mins ago! :D ) so I'll get the lights done right after my credit card month end.

This is actually for the indicator holes, they are fog lights, but should be convertible to indicators. I'll be having a play around with the set I have over the weekend hopefully to confirm my plans.

The foglight ones I got from freakyparts.

Added a pic above too, I'll get better pics this evening hopefully.

Right, I'd be using them as fogs / parking lights.

Can you not convert these to indicaors? Whats the diff between both sets?

Freakparts fogs - 82 was it mm for center holes, ones I'm doing are 72mm for the outer/indicator holes.

Ah right, then they probably won't fit the foglight holes too well then.

Took a few pics, but can't upload them to my website or my album, so I'll try tomorrow from work.

Cool. Can I assume that you actually have one of these? If so, can you do me a favour and see how it fits into the foglight hole and check if it would be easily mountable?

Yup, I got a set when I was in the states last week. I just have Jay's facelift lid pods, but I can put it in that and take a pic of it.

You'd prob be a better judge of how mountable it would be on the facelift bumper, the pods I have don't have anything to screw them onto, the bodyshop is talking about adjusting brackets and maybe doing a bit of fibre glassing to mount the lights I've got for it.

Looking at your lights mounting pic, I'd say you'd have to do something similar as you did for the light on the left of the pic. The side view probably gives you the best shot of the bracket that comes with the light.

Nothing stopping you getting inventive again though! Putting custom brackets on it maybe?

Yeah, I'll get the Sellotape and the thumbtacks out and do a job on them ;)

The fogs I have in are a really snug fit, I did think about just opening them up and putting halos in there but I'd have to do a bit of a custom job on the wiring which could be messy, theres also the possibility that I might end up making a ball licks of the light pod ;)

With your ones, there'd be a 5mm gap all around, thats nothing major but it wouldn't look as flush as the ones I have in there at the minute (I better leave it alone, I'm getting a bit neorotic about the whole thing ;))
