How did it get from hesitant acceleration to ripping up the relay? Did it konk out and not start again/stopped normally and
not start again?

Now thats some good news mixed with bad ones lol

I guess back to basics now Fuel, spark, timing

Timing should be fine as U didnt touch anything related, yes?
Try to get the ECU codes again now and reset the ECU after just in case.
Make sure crankshaft and cam shaft sensor plugs are attached firmly.

Then check is the fuel at the fuel rail.

And doest the spark plugs give good spark.

it started as hesitant acceleration, and then the day i changed the pump it decided to not start and not give any power to the pump.changing the relay has solved that now but it still wont fire.
i have no way of checking the codes now as i cant get the car to anywhere to check but will go back to the basics tomorrow and check for spark and fuel reaching the rail and go from there.will also leave the bat disconnected tonight to reset ecu

Just flash the codes using paper clip?

Is there an ODB2 or OBD1 on it?

Flashing the codes will help, but I would check the timing at this stage. When was it done last?

Was it driven hard before the hesitation occured? Whats the oil level like, and has it been burning a
bit recently?

oil levels are all fine,no isnt burning a drop.how would you adjust the timing on these?i am getting no fuel to the rail even the i can hear the pump is going there was also no pressure when i cracked open the lines..do i need to bleed the system or leave the car priming for an overly long period of time?

Oh so there U go! No fuel on the rail is Your problem!

Silly question but did U connect all the rubber pipes to the right spots, maybe the pump trying to send the fuel to return

cars fixed very happy man.it must of been the old pump that was the problem.when i connected up the new walbro pump the fuel line the way it is bolted on you have to disconnect it from underneath then tighten it at the top and then connect at bottom.i didn't do this the first time and had a slight kink in the pipe under the floor as didn't twist the pipe counter clockwise enough.solved by disconnecting from underneath thanks everyone for all of your help especially all of the pics,very much appreciated. THE FTO LIVES AGAIN

yes going very well again no probs atall going to treat her to a new timing belt and maybe some rpw or hurricane headers now
