tapping in the morning

hey there all just wondering did anyone driving a gr have a bit of tapping in there engine for a few seconds when just started from cold

In a word, yes! its very common, not a problem, just makes the noise until the oil gets up around the tappets.
Oil change with Forte top end treatment can help, but I think ultimately the only way to get rid of it is to replace the tappets, and that'll cost a few quid.

thanks guys yea thought it was the tappets alright.ive had the car now 3 years and its only the second bit of trouble it gave so it will be worth the few quid.
its in for its nct next week to so hope all goes well
