Please don't laugh...

Postby optical illusion » Mon Mar 16, 2009 12:07 am

I know this is going to sound sad, but I have never heard MIVEC outside of my car, or any other car for that matter, in my life. Derek has been going on for months about how cool and loud it is and I was like 'whatever, it doesn't sound that loud inside!'

Well oh my frikkin god guys.

I got Derek to drop me off last night and MIVEC it past me, and I swear to god I nearly wet myself.

OH.

MY.

GOD.

I have the coolest car ever!!! Why didn't somebody tell me how awesome it was!!!!!!!!! I love my car a million times more now, I could never understand why people stopped and stared with mouth agape when I did it, only to find I did it myself last night. Respect for my car has gone waaaaay up.

I tell you one thing, I went to bed last night with a smile on my face and woke up with one too.

Being an FTO owner ROCKS.

Bear in mind that you can barely hear the trademark Mivec 'Roar' unless the car has an aftermarket air- filter.

Fit one of these (ITG etc.) and these is no mistaking it after that - it's infectious

Sounds like I need someone to do a fly-by! (I was gonna say I drive-by but that would surely be taken up the wrong way! )

Been planning to do this for a while with herself, get her to drive the FTO past me with Mi-Vec flying and I go past her in the DC5 with V-Tec going. Trying to do motorway passes and overtaking shots too to compare the differences between them.

@ No experience of the Zetec, but ford sold their soul on that one and made it a nonsence when it became a trim level as apposes to an engine type. :smt018 Shame on you Ford.

@ Colm D-tec, oh dear god is it as bad as I imagine :?: (never even heard of that one before, may have something to do with the fact that I turn off when Korean cars are mentioned)

The funniest thing about the above pictured "D-Tec" engine is that some poor deluded soul went to the trouble of fitting a CAI induction to it.
