Hmm, where does it say coolant on the plastic cap? I cant remember, unless it the one for the windscreen washer fluid you're referring to??

The one beside my filter in the picture below?

The only other refill points I can think of are brake fluid, power steering fluid, and obviousy engine and gearbox oil.

Sound to me like the exhaust is full of water due to condensation. If it was idle far a very long time I would expect this.

The this right side of the picture..towards the cabin of the car you have the coolant return...

towards the front is the windscreen washer reservoir.. don't mix the two up!

As far as I remember the the coolant filling point is sitting just to the right of the engine, and has a metal cap..(correct me if I'm wrong here guys..) in any case there should be a wee sticker on top of it.

with regards to the smoke... just make sure your oil level is correct and it doesn't look gunky..
I wouldn't worry about the condensation - what you might want to do though is get the exhaust up to proper temperature (Long drive at high revs) that will evaporate any water you have sitting in the exhaust - and it's likely to solve your "issue"... -I think it's just steam..

Correct - coolant filling is the metal cap on top rhs of engine block as you look at image.

Do NOT fill coolant into the plastic cap on top right hand corner of engine bay- this is the coolant overflow.
