Finally did my dials

Postby Bernard » Sun Aug 31, 2008 5:14 pm

I finally got around to fitting my new dials last night.
I was lucky in that all the connections were already there from my old dials, all I had to do was cut the old ones off. The only bit of wiring that was needed was for the uplighter.

I'm going to get some proper connectors from maplin just for piece of mind, it'll also give me a chance to refit the bulb that fell out...
Only noticed that when everything was back together

Big thanks to James for the help!

So you took my advice and bought the clay kit after all, oh the joys of peer pressure

Seriously though, wait till you see and feel the difference. Btw, I cut my clar bar into 3 pieces, got 2 ziploc bags and sprayed it with the detailer and popped one in each for other times. Trust me, you can do the whole car with just one piece. It starts to fall apart near the end but just keep folding it over.

I really think you shouldn't be giving these people advice on how to save a clay bar for further use....i use the megs clay kits all the time, you get two bars in each kit....so therefore you have 6 mini bars?

and your using one mini bar for the car?

they are sold in that size so they are the perfect ammount for claying!

they are that size, cause the ammount of tar/fallout/sap/bird droppings they pick up...they need to be folded over all the time to protect your paint from the matter they have collected.

but you, you carry on and ruin your paint work!

:)

People, two megs clay bars...costs what? 30 euro(i dunno i buy them at trade prices).....for the sake of your paint...use a full bar......you should get two runs of a full car with one clay bar(each kit you buy should do 4 FULL cars)

Wow, 12 posts and you're laying into a regular already! Well done. You're car would want to be in crap for you to use a whole bar. (And most of our cars are well looked after already) If you fold it over to a new side each time, then obviously it's not coming in contact with your paint. My car has never looked better. If Maguiars, recommend it, I'd trust them first.

So yes, I will 'carry on and ruin my paintwork'

PS I wouldn't consider them 'these people', they are friends thanks very much.

Now back OT, Bernard, how are the dials working out?

Jesus lads chill out... I guess the only solution is too bring those cars of yours to Show and Shine and have a paint off! In the mean time, play nice!
