Hi there,

French guy, 28 years old living in Cork.

So just bought a FTO this evening to one of the forum guys (fatboy).

Will have to change the rear tires, get an ashtray and have some paint job done also have to change the sound system, with a stereo that will accept my archos and the speakers which seem a bit crapy.

But everything else is ok and the engine seems nice and clean.

I was told by him that one of the member of the forum can sell the ashtray so I'll pm him later on tomorrow and if you know where to have some tires at a good price and a good paint job ... Thx in advance :)

edit: for cars tastes well as I'm from the south east of france near italia, monaco, st tropez .. Well I love Italian race cars as I've always seen a lot of them. But as they're just not affordable...
I also love Japanese sports cars .. Plan is to buy a GTO before the end of the year...
Got this crush while I was working in Tokyo and saw some really great ones. In France I just never saw an FTO and even GTO are extremely rares ... As the RX7, supra etc ...

So I've been able to test it further this evening and :
I'll need some other tests anyway cause as it was night and raining I haven't been able to atack as much as I'd like...

- The first gear is awfully short ...
- From the second gear you can make it scream hard and quick lol
- Just have to drop a gear to get power and be able to attack the road
- The pedals are too soft for me
- The steering aid ( dunno the english name for the system) is also really smooth and soft
- It has a tendancy to "deriver", having the back floating when attacking on a curve
- Extremely easy to burn the tires when starting, but I didn't meant to do it, was just too agressive I guess
- The overall makes me fell comfortable, secure when driving.
- The car seems really light when driving ! Not like the GTO twin turbo which seems extremely heavy on the road ( whilst being super agressive)

So yep it's really an enjoyable litle sport car :)
Need to see it in rally conditions, on dust and chips ... Could be great though the curves mays be quite tricky.

I think I'll change the seats covers for the ones I've seen here too :o
And replace these useless voltgauge and clock by something more usefull ...

And thanks for all the welcome messages :D

If you want to replace the volt meter and clock, you won't do much better then Mitsubishi did, they offered oil temperature and a vacuum gauge as an alternative to the standard clock and volt meter.

you might be able to pick a set up.

well at least they add something to the sport side of the car instead of nothing

Bernard can be nice ya, thx for the invitation, the only problem being communication, I don't have any problem picking up american but Irish, well it depends on the accent ... I baerly understand some guys ..
And from mine you don't even have to ask where I'm from

But may be nice to meet some people, see some cars, steal some ideas ( that's bad , that's the kind of thing which sucks money XD ) and make some photos.

Thx for the invit I'll check the topic and try to make it for the sunday :)

I can meet you somewhere before it if you want. I saw you heading out the South Link today so I presume you're living out there somewhere. Name a place and I'll meet you if you want and you can follow me to the silversprings.

nope, I'm living on the north side , I was going to the big tesco ^^

Well in front of Munster Sound at the end of Mc Curtain Street would be just perfect :)

Thx a lot :)

Grand, I'll meet you there so, though you're actually not far from the Silversprings from McCurtain Street. If you went out past the train station, over the windy bridge, and take the left turn just at the BMW garage, the silversprings is the first turn on your right after that turn, its the hotel on the hill on your right. I can meet you anyway beforehand though if you're unsure.

Think I got it with your explanations but better be sure :)
