Marie, sounds to me like you've never driven a tip GPX! Any FTO is a hoot to drive as far as I'm concerned.

CJ

Actually it was the tip GPX that made me fall inlove with the FTO! I test drove it, and my out come was I wish they had that car in manual! & so the serch began!

Its a good point. Its quite possible these pics where taken when the car was originally imported. Plus theres no sign of the (SVA required) rear Foglight unit that you normally see on UK spec FTO's - theres very few that go to the trouble of integrating the foglight into one of the reversing light units.

£2500 plus exchange+vrt+Trip over and back to collect.
Car looks clean and straight though.
Might exceed the budget by a good bit.

Ask for pics under the bonnet for rust and also on the rear suspension, would be a hell of a waste of time going over to find it has corrosion that will be problematic in getting it NCT'd.
seen a loverly GPvR last week after 1 look you could tell it was an english import. Rusted badly in the rear and almost through in the front valance. If it was underdbody sealed then it will not be a problem

Dan

You may end up with a whole lot of heart ache by buying something that seem like a bargain and turns out to be a nightmare, costing you even more in the long run. Break the bank now and get something that was looked after.

As regardsTIP vs Manual I think this discussion could go on forever, now back to the original post subject "DAN WANTS AN FTO"

Agreed totally....

Whatever you get Dan, make sure it's clean and has been well looked after, if tip, make sure they gearbox oil has been changed regularly, and if possible, try hang off and save a few more quid to try and get something decent that has been looked after cos at the end of the day, if you buy cheap, the likelihood is that it hasn't been looked after and will need a long list of stuff done to it to get it to the standard it should be...
