DRAG WARS.... F UPDATE

As you all know this event will now take place on Sunday 14th March only.

Closing date for completed applications has been extended till the 12th March. (see below)

Taken from Flush Bus website:

Drag Warz:
Flush Bus brings you Drag Warz, Irelands first ever 2-lane Quarter mile Drag Strip. The event will be held on the 14th of March in Abbeyshrule Airfield, Co Longford - ONE DAY ONLY!

Drag Warz boasts to be the best event this country has seen to date. At present we are in talks with some of Britain’s fastest quarter mile cars, these are not yet confirmed but it is looking good with Rocket Ronnie in his Mental R33 GTR and Nemesis Performance with an array of quarter mile beasts looking like they’ll be coming over. The event will be professionally timed and run, and there will also be plenty of special guests. Oohh and not to forget plenty of ladies from all over the world. There will be lots of action including one of Irelands best stunt pilots performing arial display’s and plenty of rip-roaring quarter mile action. There will also be an array of trade stands and a show and shine area holding 50 of the countries finest motors. If you would like to participate in the racing you can get your application form on this page, all the details are on the application form. This promises to be a seriously adrenaline pumping show and all you throttle junkies are going to love it. Racing spaces are limited so get your application forms in early and fully read the form before sending it. Just remember if you are not in you can’t win the 5,000-euro worth of prizes. Drag Warz Irelands first ever 2-lane quarter mile drag strip.

Anyone from here goin to this ?

Hi Gal

I did bring the subject up but couldn't generate a lot of interest for one reason or the other. I might take a spin down nonetheless.

And to think I was trying to make a meet out of this event and no one was interested!

I'll probably be there myself, I'll know later on today. We'll get a final rollcall later in the week.

Racing on day

Postby mike » Tue Mar 09, 2004 12:32 pm

Well the application form is in the post. Got to be there by Friday this week. Going to Waterford to see if i can find a few more BHP out of the old girl. ( Gr ) I heard they are selling 105 ron racing fuel on the day. Any reason I shouldn't use it. I've started stripping out the car to lose weight. Entered the 1600cc - 2000cc class. Got to be done. Shame it ain't a mivec, but what the hell

Fair play to you Mike :)
If you're using 105ron fuel, make sure you reset the ECU before running.

Ill be heading down on Sunday with my GPX owner mate, Nigel. If Dave can make it down, then that makes 6 FTOS:

Mike
Speedyboy
Dave
FTO Gal
Nigel
Ciaran

What time are people thinking of heading down, Mike, let us know what time you intend to run at so as we can come down and support you 8)

It would be good if we could park up the FTOs in sequence for maximum effect but logistics may be an issue as I'd say the event will be quite popular. If anyone has directions down to the airfield, post 'em up, all I know is that you take the third exit of the Mullingar bypass and keep left.
