Named: Motors Inc

I finally got the back end of the FTO sorted after about two months of to'ing and fro'ing with the builders who were responsible for the damage, anyway, I decided to get the repair work done @ Motors Inc in Blanchardstown.

They did a top job, the finish is exellent. I would have no problem recommending them for any panal beating or respray work. The owner (Kevin) is a sound bloke and an enthusiast to boot, his daily driver is a GTR R33. They also undertake most mechanical work, I'll be using these guys to fit the replacement diff onto the RX-7. They also run track cars, (mostly classics) so they know a thing or two about engines.

Ask for Kevin and say I sent ya :)

Went their last month for my new bumper respray(€250) but they didn't match the body color. They respary it twice but they really can't match it.
The problem is that mine was already resprayed when I bought it last year and the resparyer on Motor Inc, can't find a match He says.. need full respray..
I can't see the beauty of my new bumper  it's like a nice looking girl with black lipstick :smt061 earning money again and looking for someone who can't match it.

Deepsea, Kevin mentioned that he had another steel silver FTO in not so long ago and they had found it hard to get a colour match due to a previous respray. When you have ajoining panels that are different colours, it can be difficult to reach a compromise in terms of a match. I had a similar problem in that my boot was slightly off in comparison to the rear quarter panels, I just told them to match the bumper to the quarter panels - the difference is hardly noticable but at least I can get the boot matched at a later time.

I'd be interested in seeing the job that they did on yours.

Aye..silvers appear to be tough to match...My car is atleast two different colors..

€250 smackers for a bumper respray..is that just for the one??

I paid about double that, granted I had some brackets replaced and some blending work on the rear. They also done a job on the front bumper to fill in and spray some deep scuff marks.

If it's a proper job it's worth it..

Every time I see my baby in a certain light & the difference becomes real obvious I die a little inside.... :smt010

Atleast the match I ended up with was close enough that it's not noticeable unless you're looking for it.. Still once the engine has been replaced the next big project is to get something done about the general appearance.. sounds like these lads could be the ones for the job.. (so many plans...sigh)

That looks a bit like the 1st paint job I had on my rearbumper - CJ should remember that..

Way off... wrong color..no two ways about it..

Lovely looking car - but thats an absolutely dreadful attempt at a paint match - I've had my bumpers, skirts and rear spoilers sprayed a few times now and never had any issues with matching the steel silver paint - there are a few different hues of it - but that bumper certainly isn't one of them
