No, the only issue I had was where the original bulb connector met the cables for the HID kit the wiring was in reverse - I ended up with black meeting red and red meeting black, so I had to reverse the spade connectors from the plastic connector.

The plastic connectors have grooves to stop you putting it on the wrong way around, not to mention a tab for the plastic clip on the other side to keep it in place, so hence I had to swap the spade connectors around.

Just keep an eye out that your cabling matches. Didn't do any damage with them connected the wrong way around, just didn't work!

Oh, and make sure your lights are off while you're doing anything with it... 23000 volts...

HID Kits £175 if i can get an order of 10 or more.

Postby alloywheelsinternational » Thu Feb 23, 2006 2:42 pm

for anyone who is thinking of going for HID i would strongly recommend the HID kits i have for sale.
http://www.alloywheelsinternational.com/HIDLAMPS.html
after a lengthy & broken conversation with a korean today i have got the correct price for the kits if i purchase 10 kits or more. i have been advised that the Wide View HID kits i am selling are highly recommended and reliable. they are made the equilivent of Hella and have been tried and tested.
also after looking at the HID prices and looking at the other competitors i can see that the exact kit i am supplying is getting sold for £350+ on websites in London.
i have been advised that i should be retailing the kits at no less than £269 per kit + shipping.
i actually paid £215 for my kit but now if i do a group buy if 10 or more i can match the price of £175 delivered. jesus that is cheap. i have no queries about the other kits on the market as they are korean made kit the only thing is i would have a guarantee on the Wide View Kit and has been approved by hyundai so has to be of the high standard and equivilent of hella.
if anyone is interested get a group buy together at that price. £175 delivered. if individual the cost is £269 per kit.
if anyone is interested put a list together. £175 delivered. i will keep you all up to date on the installation of mine this weekend. pics to follow.

I'm confused now - I think I've got HID lights but there's no sign of anything that looks the kit that you guys are talking about. There's a large protusion behind the main lights with a high voltage symbol on it and some Jap writing - doesn't look like it's an add on. (I have a pic but don't know how to post it).
When the lights switch on, there's the chracteristic 'flash' as the lamp ignites and then they warm up to full brighness after about 5 seconds.
Were HID's ever factory fitted? ('97 GPX) Do you think this is an aftermarket unit that was fitted in Japan?

HIDs were factory fitted on GPvRs, haven't heard them fitted to GPX's from the factory but there's nothing stopping a previous owner fitting GPvR lights on his GPX...

The factory fitted ones afaik were fitted on the bottom of the lights in a silver metal box, bolted onto the lights.

Add the pic to your album, and then take the address of your album and put it between [ img ] and [ /img ] tags in your post. Leave out the spaces, I just put those in to stop it thinking 'and' was a picture url.

My '98 GPX has got factory fitted HID's ...I know their not standard so it must've been an optional extra that was available
