Christ that is almost more time than a full conversion takes if I am reading correct. Was that 9 in total or 18 between the 2 of ye

The FTO is one of the easiest cars I have ever worked on. Now my old Dual Carb civic was a b***h to work on.

It is a lovely car to work on. The whole removeing the intake phelumn is annoying but hey. (That was when I as doing the rocker cover gaskets)

It was the two of us working on it for 9 hours yea e took about half an hour in between for ourselves but yea 9 hours.

But there were 2 aspects slowing us down.
1 the only hoist we had as a 3 tonne trolly jack and a set of axelstands.
2 this being the first time we went near a fto gearbox.

I wouldn't mind but my clutch and flywheel were scortched not the clutch being gone so it shouldn't have even needed to changed

Christ that was a big risk changing a gear box with just axlestands and a trolley jack. Suppose the stands are safe enough though, I had a 2 tonne jack fail on mine a few months ago but luckily she was only about an inch from the ground with the tyre back on.

We bought the jack just for the job and the engine was also ankered to support beams that sat over the car
