I can get these made up but the price will depend on numbers wanted. Obviously the more thats wanted the cheaper it will be. For 5 or more they will work out at €30 plus P+P. That is for a plain slam panel (no logos) made from stainless steel in 1.2mm and 1.5mm depending on what is wanted.
I dont mind people collecting them if that suits. Let me know asap as I think the first lot will be made this week hopefully.

I should have said that these will be slightly different to the FTOOC ones , see here:
http://www.fto-shop.com/engine-dress-up/slam-panel-carbon-fibre-fto-/prod_236.html
The cut out at the right of the slam panel that allows for a radiator pipe to fit is a lot bigger than is actually needed. On the ones I'm getting made this cut out will be a bit smaller. It is going to be just big enough to let the pipe fit, and may be rectangular rather than having the half circle cut out. Hope that is ok, apparently its easier to write the programme to do it that way.

As far as I know they will fit all models. I'm in Lucan so it will probably be cheaper to just post it to you rather than you drive somewhere to meet me. I'll get a cost on it and let you know.
If possible and there is someone from Dublin heading down to the Limerick meet on the 13th who is willing to bring them down for others to collect I will do that. It might suit Bernard anyway. Will organise all that once numbers are finalised.

To be honest I don't like the idea of a rectangular cutout, good price though.

I was chatting with the guy making them and the idea of having the rectangular cut out is to minimise the size of the cut out needed not to obstruct the radiator pipe. I can ask him to do them like the FTOOC ones if people prefer them like that. But we will all need to agree on the same thing, as more than one type will need two programmes.
What would you guys prefer? I personnaly thought the smaller the cut out the better it would look, but thats just my opinion, I'm not that bothered to be honest.
If possible and a "prototype" can be made I'll get one and get pics up and see what you think.
The price isn't bad but we are getting the the stainless steel sheet for less than it should cost, we are getting it at cost price and no vat, mightn't get it at that price again. I think its great value as the ones on RB performance are £48.99.
http://www.rb-performance.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/23_31/products_id/378
Just so as we're clear the only cut out that we were thinking of doing "rectangular" in shape was the one cut out for the radiator pipe in the top right of the slam panel. The reason for that was to make the cut out as small as possible and it is easier to write the programme so I was told. All the rest of the holes etc will be the same.

If you look at the slam panel on RB, all the corners are curved.

Is the guy you're getting to make these up proposing all the corners be sharp?
(I know I'm nit picking)

No the edges will be rounded. It should be the same bar the round cut out for the radiator. This is a lot biger than actually needed so the idea was to make it as small as possible. Here's a rough idea of what it will look like:

as opposed to the RB performance one here:

I dont want to change it too much, just get rid of the FTO logo and make the cut out smaller where possible.

No the logo wont be on it. I dont like the logo on it, I think it looks a bit OTT. Most people looking for them wanted it with no logo so thats the way I got them priced up. If we dont get 5 I might see how much it will cost for the amount we need. Failing that offer them up on ebay and sell them for a little dearer to cover ebay listing and commision fees. We'll see what happens.

Just noticed there that the RB performance ones are slightly different to the FTOOC carbon fibre one (which is one I used to get the measurements off). The carbon fibre one seems to have a bigger cut out than the rest. Have a look at the different types on the FTOOC here:
http://www.fto-shop.com/engine-dress-up/cat_11.html
For those that cant view the FTOOC heres the two types:

See how the carbon fibre one (the bottom one) the cut out is bigger?? We thought it would be nicer to make it as small as possible. But it looks like some of them have already done this. If possible and someone has an RB or non carbon fibre one and I can get measurements off it we could use that instead. It will take a little longer though as it will take time to collect it and get measurements from it and write the new programme etc.

It should look like the 1st picture I posted in this thread if we go ahead with what we had planned. This one:
Image
Personally I think that way looks better but you guys can decide what you think.
If you look at the CF panel you can see its a good bit bigger than the other one tats why we thought it looked a bit too big. In fairness the other ones do look better than the CF one in relation to the size of the cut out. If I had of had one of those it probably wouldn't have crossed my mind to make it smaller.
kizersozey wrote:thats the template you used with the deep half circle,,,,,,,,so your saying the cut which will be larger when its in rectangle form karl .

No the rectangular cut out was to make it smaller than the original cut out that was in it. It is going to be as small as possible, we are going to make the cut just big enough to allow it to fit round the radiator pipe. The original has a cut of about 10-15mm too big on all sides.
