window wiper problem

Postby paul2508 » Thu Jul 22, 2010 9:32 pm

cant seem to find anything on here similar to my problem.
when i twist the wiper stick to the first setting(dwell) the wipers move once just after a buzz noise, then when the wipers come back down another buzz follows, after that they wont go up again. its like the dwell timing is gone on it,the other settings on the wipers are grand tho
any suggestions...??
...Me fail english?..Thats unpossible.....

That rings a bell, though I can't remember if it was the FTO or another car I had, remember something vaguely about moving one of the stalks and hearing a buzz but again can't remember what stalk it was for or what happened, but I think I got the stalk replaced in the end. Not much help I know but just said I'd let you know it has happened me at some stage in some car sometime, in a galaxy far far away...............

than whats the holdup
get a tubular key screwdriver , unscrew the bolts, clean , oil.. see if electric contacts are clean, if not , contact cleaner or good old pencil eraser;) and u'r set to go.. in silence:)
there is a lot of info
and should take no more than 1 hour
