I've got to say that this whole Facebook, Bebo and Twitter stuff leaves me cold. I would be loathe to publish the personal details and photos that many users of these sites do. The security breaches to date are too scary... the 'privacy' option???
I think the forum/bulletin board is a far superior system. Run and moderated properly (which this one is) it eliminates most of the inane crap which is posted on the above.
Just to be honest, I'm probably twice the age of most of the members on this forum. I've investigated all of the above, and personally I think they're more dangerous than useful and they wouldn't do anything for me. Having said that, that's only my opinion and is absolutely no criticism of anyone who uses these sites... whatever floats your boat
I'll probably be accused of being an ould technophobe, but I've been using the internet since the mid 80's and using and developing on the web since the mid 90's. It's the most exciting phenomenon I've been lucky to be involved in and to see it progress to this stage is something I would never have dreamed of seeing... but twitter
