Dear CJ,

Thanks you very much for your words. We have spend like 3 months on this car that I really enjoy more than any of the other cars I drive. I had the budget for a turbo awd car but i decided to save some money and invest a good part of the turbo budget on my old FTO i coudnt sell it. Ive learned a lot from reading this forum and your cars are our inspiration actually. I considered setting up a turbo on my 6a12 but I will miss the mivec sound and I really dont care much on going on a straight line I care about turning. I dont care much about drag racing with this one. Thatas why the quaife and the bars, caster mod, tein etc
I hope we really get the most out of this car. I think if i buy cams it will be a great mistake because ill loose the mivec so Ill rather make a racing gearbox in Argentina. They make there own engines and gearboxes for the TC2000 thoose guys are really racing mother feck....

Have you heard anything positive about setting up cams?

Any of you guys have made the front and back out of fiber glass? In the garage they want to make all the front with fiber glass and all the truck also.
This diet will loose around 60 kl maybe less and after this im setting a roll bar and a extra security bar on both doors just in case.

Best,
s

Hi Sebastian,

How are you?

Hopefully my Mechanic and team are very passionate ppl when the mivec didnt activate itself they all said this car is not leaving with out this fixed, they arent charging me extra or nothing. The over all cost has been decent not cheap not so expensive I think every penny have been fair. My car wont come to another garage unless he moves to jupiter.

We are almost sure its the alternator we are taking it out monday. We cleaned again sensors changed wires over electrical overhaul this took 3 days.
The cars was going to be ready by the 25 of august they say the 31 but I already made my mind they will work on it until sep 15 or so.
If i cant find the alternator i have to import it form london (auuuuch) lol and this takes 2 weeks or so.

you know how metal works man lol i need more patience.

regards,

when do you have meeting there in Ireland? I would love to check a bunch of FTO together never had that site in my life since there are 3 around lima and 10 all over Peru aprox. :smt006

And the 2007 and 2008 shots are excluding cars that took part in the 1/4 mile too. 2007 we had 2 teams, and 2008 we had one team I think if not 2 as well.

We are almost sure its the alternator.....some how when I restore the car the old standard mechanic I used fixed the alternator for the car to operate on the street to go from his garage from its actual home. We over looked this I over looked this to be exact. Any way we are going to fix it again and try to use it until we get a new alternator around here or ill have to import one sadly lol Just the shipping its 140 pounds!!!!

Excellent. I've always wanted to just sit in a confined space and rev my engine that high, never did it though. Conbination of not wanting to cause too much noise and afraid I'd do damage.

Thanks FTOLAM,
Seems like you miss yours. Anyway know you can get one easily up there where you live bro.
Here there where around 10 to 15 know there are 5 and counting down.....

Im exited about this cage its going to be badass.....Its going to be painted White like the ultra racing bars I bought.
THis wont be a normal roll cage that you bolt in....this will be a cage attached to the ground we are blending metals together theres no way back I cant take the cage out ever again with out serious damage to the cockpit. I wont take the cage out never.....When I set this car for real racing I will upgrade this cage to the profesional one just by adding some new bars inside.
This cage will make the car even more stable on turn and will hold a couple of good rolls and the bars on the doors will make a difference in case some one impacts me on the side (hope not) 8) .

The bar will be 10 inches back from where it stands know.
First step:

When we made the wheal swap I missed out an stupid mistake they made this guys did a wonderful job but they left aside the handbrake in the normal position so its not easy reach it when it might handy.
Image
We are cutting and pating the handbrake on the other side so i have it close to my body and not in the passenger seat.

Thats all for today folks,

Hi,
Last updates is that paint is done and glowing...after pollishing it would look very well.

Cage is being bended and still in modding. Its going to be a very strong 35kl cage that protects me from rolling and lateral impact (at least a little).
I cant wait know....

Look guys this Gizzmo Garbage doesnt draw correctly the numbers on the screen...looks like the third number is feck up.
Anyway Ill use this toy for a while until I get a nice piggyback ecu.

This project is almost done Ive enjoyed every bit of it but now im starting to go crazy I need my car on the street...every day i start my car on the garage its an amazing feeling....the ferriday 0.6mm gaskets makes the car sound different more compression is noticeable. I really want to enjoy it already.

The team sais the car should be rolling on worst case scenario by sunday the 18.
