I know what you mean with the Celicas, they're a nice looking car but they're EVERYWHERE!

The tip mivec, well it really depends on what you want. The gearbox would be the primary factor to think about, whether the semi auto is what you're after. The tip box needs very regular oil changes to keep in good order too but thats not a difficult task from what I hear.

Other than that they're pretty solid!

No hassles... if you get a drive of it I think the thing to look out for is smooth gear changes when its in automatic mode.

I don't suppose its the one in Bishopstown autos you're looking at?

I would definetly recommend driving a manual GPX/GPvR before shelling out your hard earned cash. When I was looking at FTO's I had my heart set on a Tip MIVEC. I think it was the novelty factor of having a tiptronic, but I have to say I was a little disappointed after driving it. I then drove a manual GR (non-mivec) & was well impressed. It was then that I decided I wanted a manual & preferably a MIVEC. Sat it out for a few weeks (test drove 6 different FTO's) until the right one came along & haven't looked back since.

I wandered in for a look at it one day, and it looked nice and clean but as you say completely standard. Seems to be a fairly typical inflated jap importers price.

My brother is visiting a few of the jap importers today, I think he fancies a 1.6 Integra so trying to find one at the mo. I'll let you know if he finds any FTOs around the place.

Someone mentioned to me a while back that they thought they saw an FTO in a place on the Bandon road (the one continuing up along from Barrack street, with Lennox chipper on it) but I didn't get around to going down for a look after.

As you travel to Cork from Cahir, just on your right in Mitchelstown there is a Jap Importer, and old guy (Jim O'Brien) runs it and I often see fto's in the yard (mainly white). He is a friendly sort and should be glad to help
