I only partially agree, Yes you could get a '95 for half the price, but lets face it, we are not talking big money anyway. Say 12 -13k not big money to spend on a car. Especially if you could get a freash well maintained import.

I think you are off the mark here CJ. Snobbery aside, a new car is always more desireable, all other things being equal, given average; wear, mileage, spec, price etc, (for the given age of a car) I personaly would always choose the newest one I could afford (that is for something to be my pride and joy!)
To suggest that this car would only suit a naive buyer with more money than sense is a bit of a sweeping statement.
