Alternator

Alternator Broke down ... Battery light is on ... and when im driving Volt meter is showing about 12 volts ... so its just battery without charging ...
I need new (second hand) alternator from what cars can i fit in ??? 2l. Galant ?? and how much it can cost ?

Petra, there are different alternators depending on year and model of the car - what model do you have? Rather than replaciung the alternator straight out, it would be worthwhile visiting an autoelectrician to see if simply a matter of replacing the rectifier (aka diode pack) in the alternator.

GR 1995 yr. 6a12 2l engine ... non Mivec ...
To go to service just to check alternator they will take 50 euros ... its feck up ... Im Just came to Lithuania for a hollydays and thinking to buy alternator from scrap yard ... its really cheap over here ...

The FTO alternator assembly unit was not used in any other Mitsubishi model. The GR p/n is MD317515 (75A). If I were you, I'd have the diode pack checked out - its the most common alternator failure and is easy fixed. Theres an autoelectrician (Richie) in Blanchardstown villiage, he did a job on the alternator in my GPX about 2 years ago - 8200840.

AKAIK, the MIVEC and non-MIVEC alternators are different (2pin / 4pin), the facelift GPX alternator was also up'ed to 85A IIRC.
