exhaust gasket

the piping on the exhaust system i have is 2 inch piping , can i just get any 2 inch gaskets, cos im looking at som which are 2 inch universal gaskets(for different bolt sizes) but they say for de cat . is there a difference between de cat gaskets and middle to back box gaskets. just wanna make sure
