Respect for the Gardai

I had to share this with you guys :

Picture this....

- Leave the office and head to car very late - 10pm
- Car battery flat as a pancake - muggins left map reading light on while driving to work that morning
- Phone security - guy comes in 10 mins and jump starts no probs
- Nice night, little traffic so start caning it home
- For those of you who know Sandyford, I come off Leopardstown roundabout and tear down the smooth and wide Brewery road - Mivec roaring like a banshee behind me
- Oh Sh1TTTTTT, Day-Glo jacket ahead with Air Traffic Controller wand in one hand and radar gun in the other. I pull to an abrupt stop having never seen a Garda on that road in 10 years driving it
- Garda says....."did you know there is a 50k speed limit on this road"
- I say......"no Garda" and proceed to turn off my car as I'm done for at this stage
- Garda says......"I have just caught you doing 91 in a 50 zone"
- As I turn off the car I notice everything fade, lights, radio, the lot so I tell Garda I have just got car boosted at work
- I try to start car, it chokes immediately and then is completely dead
- Garda says..." How will you start it", I tell him I don't know
- Garda says..." will I give it a push for you"
- I tell him..." No Garda it's OK, I wouldn't have you do that, maybe I can call security at work and get them to come down to me"
- He says...." are you sure you don't want me to try a push?".....I say "well OK"
- Now picture this, Garda waves on about 5 cars from behind me with his controller light wand, puts down the speed gun and wand onto the road and proceeds to push me running down the road - can you believe it
- Car jumps to and I stop 50 yards down road to see Garda waving me on away
- I give him a toot toot and head off on my way. Had a permanent smile on my face for about 24 hours afterwards :) :D :o

THERE IS A GOD !!!! and I have a new found respect for the boys in blue - there are some good ones out there !!! 8)

Sorry for this bit of bull......but before Kace's story I would have thought this a bit more likely to happen.

My Mum said I should have phoned in to Joe Duffy with that one - I thought about it until I realised that I would probably get the poor bollix into trouble for failing to punish borderline dangerous driving :?

She should be grateful I even remember her first name, Slapper.
No doubt you googled her name just before you corrected me
