Im going to ring:
Axa, Hibernian, Britton, Zurich, Allianz, Eagle Star...
You know, this country is a f**king joke, I'm so tempted to emmigrate lately it's not funny. Run by a shower of imbociles...

Mine's up for renewal in February, I've found Eagle Star through Britton good in the past.
I just hope they stay that way... fingers crossed.

im up for renewal on 23rd of december,
FBD told me that they will only cover a GR and GS.
rang britton for a quote and was told that they could not get anyone to
provide a quote.
The FTO seems to be largely missunderstood by insurance companies.
looks like another year with Quinn

I tried an online quote from Quinn the other day.
They quoted just over double what I'm paying now on a '99 but wouldn't quote for a '00

scummers!
Iøm with eagle star and they've proven themselves to be a really nice bunch to deal with..
I lost my NCB there recently (well about a year ago now) didn't damage the fto but caused a grands worth of damage to a nasty little yoke of a polo..
my insurance still came down about 40e when it came time to renew..I had expeceted it to go up by a fair amount.. I'm not often positively surprised by insurance companies...

I saved a couple of hundred euro this year by moving away from Quinn. They can only refuse not to match quotes for so long....

www.bestquote.ie (Hibernian), not difficult, it was the first broker I tried, they happened to provide the cheapest quote...

Travellers, through 123.ie did mine. I rang around a few brokers, and their quotes were through Travellers as well. Seems like they are the only ones quoting.

So this is how my asshole of a day went:
Its for women: Dont insure imports
FBD: Dont insure 'that' type of car to under 25s. She had never heard of an FTO.
Axa: Dont insure 'that' type of car
Hibernian: Need 3 yrs NCB
Britton: Getting back to me but will be the same old crap
Zurich: Won't quote direct
Allianz: Won't quote 'that' type of car as new business
Xsdirect: Females have to be 2K excess. Quoted me if I removed the air filter in a certified garage??
AA: Dont insure 'that' type of car
Tesco: Won't quote 'that' type of car as new business
Lyns. Ryan: No.
123.ie: Dont insure 'that' type of car
Insure.ie: Need 3 yrs NCB
Have yet to ring ryanair and bestquote. A total waste of an hour of my life. You'd swear I was driving a fcuking ferrari.
Looks like I have to stick with those... ack...
At least I can change my health from them.
All in all my car was viewed as a disease, with the word THAT emphasised a lot. Being a woman clearly does not help.

Unfortunately, as guys here will testify. parts availability and cost is a huge factor. this is part of the reason the insurers hate them. that and people keep crashing them.

I'd be surprised if Britton didn't quote you. Have you tried Daves crowd (O'Reilly Cullen)?

get a quote as a new customer... then ring and DEMAND it be matched.... ask why are new customers gettin a better deal, that they should be looking after their own customers.....
They did this to me last year and I went about it this way.... i also reported them to the IIF and they were quick to match my quote then......
Have a read through this thread.
