Finally my gpx is perfect

Postby mivecmad27 » Sun Jan 16, 2011 11:21 am

After 2 years of owning a tip gpx, there was a lot of talking about and wanting to covert her to a manual. That day finally came when i drove her into my garage yesterday afternoon an automatic and drove her out a manual. :D

Well done. Do you notice a difference performance wise, seems there is less power being lost through transmission etc.

If ya don't mind how much did it set you back. Im sure there might be a few people interested in doing the same

Delighted isnt the word...i'm like a kid with a new toy.
I got pretty much all the bits off one of the gx ger is breaking....cheers for that dude by the way....for €350(cheap).and a stage 1 exedy clutch of camskill for 225.All in cost me about €600 cause i did the work myself.
As for the performance...the difference is unbelievable, its a completly different car.The manual box itself must be almost 100kg lighter. And you can feel the extra power that is lost through the auto box straight away :D

Yeah it's unbelievable. I test drove an auto GR when I had my GR and I was amazed at the difference. I thought there was something wrong with the car as I didn't know about the power loss in the autos.

I'm sure you'll make the most of it

Well done, really happy for you. Twice as nice I bet when you could do the work yourself!
