1 Euro bargains in B&Q

Postby colm_mcm » Thu Dec 18, 2008 11:19 pm

Was in B&Q today and they have a load of stuff reduced to a Euro.

I saw:

10 rolls insulating tape (not great quality funnily enough, but ok)
Sheets of assorted sandpaper
Large cable ties
Multi coloured smaller cable ties
SCART leads
Set of holesaws
Weatherproof junction boxes
Plug timers (would be a little wary of them)
12 inch long 10mm drill bits (pack of 2)
Pack of cordless screwdriver bits with magnetic adaptor
6 pack masonry bits
6 pack steel bits
Craft knives
Spiral cable tidy wrap
Loads of other bits and pieces
They also had universal boot liner box thingys for E2.50

Granted these won't be top notch stuff, but for 1 euro, you won't expect miracles. the holesaws or drill bits would be worth a euro even if they only worked once! and the cordless bits are worth a euro even for the magnetic bit.

Kinda shows you the margins they have as well :(

I bought a stapler thingie in Homebase yesterday...

it's said 2.50e on the box..

got charge 1.50

it worked 3 times...

good job I only needed to staple the one thing - still have the reciept, might pop in for a refund or an exchange... lol :-) ( I wont...honest!)

bring it back, it still should work more than once!

it's the principle of the thing!

It did... it worked 3 times!

I considering converting it into something useful - like a small paperweight...

I thought I found non-safety matches in a €2 shop... they just turned out to be red topped

Damn H&S
