FTO light baking

Postby kevinod » Thu Jan 10, 2008 10:14 pm

Just wondering if anyone here has tried opening the fto front lights by putting them in the oven for a while?

Got me some halos from a guy in Australia I'd like to put on the car but a bit nervous of the idea of putting my headlights in an oven for a while!

Anyone tried it? Might just go down to the body shop and ask them to put them in but saving a few quid would be a good plan...

Doh, missed it! Thanks... was the water ingress because of the earlier cooking?

I've one rear light to do and the 2 front ones...

I've a week to take off in the next month or two so might try it then...

At that point, I hadn't 'cooked' the light previously, so no.

Cool, just picturing myself making .... of the glue separating the lense from the back! I guess once I have some sealant handy I should be fine.

friend of mine used this <sistem> on his TEG and it worked just fine.
you need some screwdrivers , a cutter , a chisel ( perhaps) and very much patience, and ok maybe another pair of hands !

make sure you have a propper resealant after !
