Postby d_dan » Tue Jun 03, 2008 10:01 pm

guys,

ok people get things bored out eg. throttle bodies etc. ROUND ports,
but what about something thats not. eg. the head thats skimmed.

I suppose they can if you can skim the head could you skim the pelumn(spelling)

Dan you're nuts!

I think you only skim a head if something is wrong with it.

You'd bore the cylinders to fit larger pistons.

you can bore out the throttlebody to get more air/fuel into the engine - as far as I understand the gains from this mod on it's own are slim to none, but who knows your other mods might have an effect.

Personally I'm going to focus on weightloss for september.. bring on the diet.

I'd say it would be next to impossible to skim the plenum intake ports, I'm not sure that it would be worth the hassle.

yea was thinking iv never seen the inside of a plenum.

I was thinking if i could get more air in there would be good.

Jeez Dan theres a lot of cash going into this car from having a tight budget before! Seriously I think you'd be better putting some of it away for the unforeseen stuff, like if a belt goes or a waterpump or something. Things like that arent cheap to do and while your car will run without boring or something it wont be going anywhere without belts and pumps and pulleys. Just my opinion, its easy to get carried away with mods.
