Fuel MPG more like OMG

Just doing the maths there... OMG.
Filled up on Friday. 70 euro for 58 litres approx.
(need to double check this) but I think i get about 400K out of the tank which is approx 250 miles.
So 58 litres = about 12.6 Gallons.

Therefore 12.6 gallons = 250 miles = approx 19 mpg.

No F**************g way


Thoughts please. Is someone stealing my petrol. Am i driving a Dodge Vipe disguised as an Fto with a speed limiter?

ok, here we go... 250 miles / 58 litres = 4.31 miles per litre.
There are 4.54609 litres in a gallon, 4.31 * 4.54609, which brings it to 19.595 mpg.

I get somewhere in mid 20s usually, later 20s if I behave particularly well that tank, or go on long journeys maybe.

Considering the reports of you terrorising the local beemer population 19 prob is about right?

Until the recent 119cent madness, I was getting about 100km for 10 euro.

Now I turn the engine off when I'm going downhill : )

No surprise there, I get about 20mpg on average, granted I'm doing city driving most of the time. Anyway, you're dring a performance car, low MPG comes with the territory when you're not spareing the horses, get used to it

I guess I should mention that I do live only 4 miles from work, so for a lot of my driving the car is just warmed up and I'm at work, which isn't good for my mpg.

Drive it like a race car - Costs like a race car.

Not unusual to get 20mpg - I tend to average 25mpg - its still a hell of a lot better than what I've been getting from the Scooby. FTO gives 300 miles from a full tank when I'm driving "normally"

well in fairness from what I've heard you sound like you do like to use the revs which only to be expected when driving such a sweet sounding car but unfortunately fuel consumption goes downhill rapidly. I usually get around 30mpg in the golf so it's one of the very few things I don't miss about my GR

I still manage(d) to get about 340miles of a full tank driving reasonably most of the time - but now it seems petrol this side of the world is going up AGAIN by another 40c a litre next week - bring it to R6.31/L! It wasn't even 3 months ago we were paying R5.28/L...

Thats still just 81cent a litre RSQ - we are paying circa 120 cent a litre over here in Ireland and its a lot more expensive again in the UK.

After reading Evo magazine for the past few weeks I was considering searching out an E36 M3 and importing from the UK but with petrol prices the way they are (and the road tax) I'm not so sure....
