Postby ftogirl » Sun Feb 11, 2007 12:33 pm

Well have had door stripped down and the central locking motor seems fine so busy checking the wiring.
Anyone got any ideas what might be wrong?.

How did you test the motor? did you test it without the metal rods connected?

If you push the button for the remote locking, does the passenger side lock and not the drivers side, or do neither work?

ftogirl, can I ask what test you performed to rule out the motor? . Did you check to see if power was being delivered to motor when engaging central locking? When locking the door with the key, does the lock appear 'sticky'?

If you want to completely rule out the motor as the cause, consider swapping in the working motor from the other door.

a universal motor has been fitted on the drivers side, connected through the old one. central locking works with the key but not with key fob.
when operating key remote you can hear the relay clicking but does'nt open or lock the doors. motor seems fine not sticky. when operating key fob neither doors work only when using key in door. removed motor and tested on battery works fine.

Hi guys, thanks for your help, all fixed now, it was the central locking interface on the alarm.

Lynn.
