fitting new stepper motor eeeek!!!!

hi peeps.im on a weeks holidays so i thought id give my baby a little tlc... im fitting e new stepper motor tomorrow , got it about two months ago just have not had the time to fit it plus the high idle revs are doing my nut in :x im just wondering is it really that easy to fit. i rang paul nolan about it and told me "paul, you would fit that yourself within no time" . i just keep thinking im gonna f*#k up. what steps do i take in changing the stepper motor.cheers peeps :D

Don't panic..! I took mine out and cleaned it. Absolute doddle. Remove the battery beforehand to give you some space to work in... :wink:

Paul it's very simple, just remove the air intake pipe from the manifold and you will see the stepper motor there. It's held on by 2 small screws/nuts. Not the 3 on the plastic!! Remove the connector plug and unscrew the stepper. Take it out, put the new one in, screw that one on and reconnect the plug. Done. Now you might have to adjust the idle speed using the screw on the top right of the manifold. It's embedded in a small hole you can't miss it. Only turn this if necessary though! The car should idle around 2k rpm at start up from cold at be around 650-800 at running temp.

hahahaha i cant believe how easy that was . i feel like such an ass. the car is just like now. the old stepper motor was filthy. cleaned it up tho. it loks like an old one because its a different colour. its there if anybody is looking for one,i know its second hand but i cleaned it up so it might come in handy for someone. thanks again for the help. fto ireland rocks :smt023

you said it mate. its just embarrassing when your at traffic lights or anything. you just get strange looks off people etc.
