I'd recommend have a look at the search facility. Lots of talk on here about topics like that previously.

Bernard has asymmetrical Eagle F1s on his, and they're much grippier than the Yokohamas on mine, his are 235mm wide I think.

I'm just after ordering a new set of Toyo Proxies for the front of mine as I've worn out the old ones. Had to go for Proxies again as I find they have plenty of grip in wet and dry, although they dont have the greatest lifespan

Depends on your driving style to some degree, I have T1-Rs on the VR4 and they're wearing pretty well so far. Remember, more grip often means softer rubber = faster tyre wear.

I've run Vredestsin Ultracs on the last 2 FTOs - a seriously underrated tyre in terms of performance - it grips right up to the limit and lets go gradually i.e. no surprises. Low road noise twinned excellent tyre wear and reasonable cost make the Ultrac a great choice IMO.

What sort of cost are you talking about for Vredesteins CJ? My mother has had them on her last 2 cars and she always speaks highly of them.

Think I paid 100 euro per tyre for 16's (DTAS) earlier last year. The 2 common models are Sportrac and Ultrac - the latter is the performance model.

Yup she has sportracks on hers. Want to get wider and higher profile tyres soon, but don't wanna go nuts on them price wise as the car gets so little driving.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics is what I have too, and very happy with them, on my second set of them now. Haven't tried the Vredsteins though, might be worth a look next time around.

And you're trying to say what exactly :?:

:)

OK I like the twisty mountain roads but the only time I've spun the wheels was at the racecourse (unforunately)

Tyre wear isnt a big prob, just a little quicker than expected. Dont care as long as its keeping me on the black stuff

I take it you'll be after a second set of wheels so?

Seb has a set of standard 16s looking for a new home...

Just a thought but, will 16s fit on the car with your GTO brakes?
