Keys stolen (possibly) so how easy to source new locks etc?

Postby adrian » Sun Jul 20, 2008 10:11 am

Hey,

I can not find my keys and retracing my steps I THINK I might have stupidly left them in the front door of my house for an hour by accident and someone lifted them!

However, I have a spare key for the car so was able to get it into the garage last night (the keys also have a garage fob on them) and take the car bettery out out I think I will have to change door and boot locks and ignition barrel. I will have to get the alarm unit changed too. AAAGHHHH!!! Not happy.

Question is, how easy is this to source and do??

Thanks

Adrian

Don't know how easy it is to do - but Rory should be abletosort you out.. (steelroe) - if not RiceRocket or Camskill would be my next port of call.

Can you disable the garage door?

Yeah - but if they don't you're doing the right thing.

I had my bunch of keys nicked whilst I was wonking in the club back in Denmark..had to get all the locks changed in the club - both internal and external, along with a pub I also worked in, the stairwell to my apartment (shared with 3 other apartments) and my apartment..

BUT by the time my shift ended and I had booked the locksmith my aparmenthad already been visited.. Didn't nick much though..
and luckily the apartments, pub and club were all owned by the same guy so he was able to stick it on his insurance.

Did I mention this was on a sunday during the most recent General Strike in Denmark?

I wont write here what I think about people that nick keys....cause it wouldn't be appropriate..

Hey, yea RiceRocket will do them for 80 GBP plus P&P so that's not bad. I will check with Rory today also as would like to keep the business in the club.

The shutter company who did my roller door talked me through resetting the code of the existing fob that I have so at least the other one is now useless.

The lad from DynoSecure who did the locks was saying that it was probably just fellas passing having a laugh who took the keps, and threw them away... more then likely not someone who'll monitor the house waiting for me to leave. Still, glad to have all the loks replaced.

Update! The keys were found this afternoon on the road beside my house. Weird cause I used them to get into the house. Perhaps when the battery of the car was removed and they garage disabled and the house locks changed they tried and fired them away. Found about 3 doors down.

I am a happy man!
