Imperial Red GR For Sale..

Postby Garsa1 » Tue Jun 03, 2008 4:01 pm

Well I finally got a Company Car, So I have decided to sell my FTO  . Would love to keep her.. but she would be wasted on a driveway.

She is a Manual GR..With 17in alloys, Four New Goodyear F1 tyres. Alpine CDA7898 Phamtom faced stereo. New Mongoose twin exit exhaust. Taxed Until Sept 09 and NCT until Feb 2009 and last serviced in April. €4900 or reasonable offer..

I have really looked after her and she has been serviced twice in the last year. Drives perfect..

Here is the Link..

Tow Bar and Spoiler

Postby Garsa1 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 12:16 pm

The Tow Bar Is welded on, plus it stops ppl dinting the rear bumber ;). Might take a job to remove it. The spoiler came with it when I bought the car from Viper on here its nice and tidy. I'm not sure of its name but it was mentioned on here in when I was buying it. I'll take a look.

Tow Bar actually came from Adrian here originally! I bought it for my small lake boat at home in Galway but never actually used it in the end. Afaik it's not welded on to the car - only the removable aspect of it is welded, the whoel thing should be bolted on behind the scenes so I'd imagine it's not too much work to remove. Spoiler I have no idea! Came with the car when I originally bought it!
Incidently it's a lovely car, the eventual buyer will not be disappointed!

Thanks Viper. How the lotus? Do you still have to stretch before you get into it in the mornings?

I love this car its a great drive (always wanted one), got a 06 BMW 320 coupe for work so the FTO would just be wasted sitting in my drive. Its in great nick a credit to it previous owners. I'll ask my Mech and see if the tow bar can be taken off..

Brilliant car, no other way to describe it. If only I could fit the fishing rods in it I'd keep it for life, unfortunately I can't so it's (cough) up on carzone.
Market's rrrrreally slow at the moment though, hopefully you'll have more luck with a quick sale.

well folks....

Postby padidas » Wed Jul 09, 2008 6:16 pm

My Car is currently up for sale...

With a decent amount of money in my bank account, i'm back thinking about FTO's (after seeing this one up for sale)

And my insurance quote became more reasonable too.....

Anyway all this aside.. I was wondering if there really is a BIG difference in the GPX and the GR's performance.. I've waited this long.. I really dont wanna be disappointed and left wanting more.....

As it stands, I have found both withing the price range I can afford...

Any advice would be great??

ps. If I was to get a GR... that one would be a serious contender.. lovely car.. :)

And am very serious about as soon as my car sells........... :) hehe

there are a few threads in here about gr vs gpx as in differences .

still a manual or a tip box makes a difference in driving .

i guess it depends of what you are really looking for.

as for this fto . i wish only that my GR looked as good as this one .
i'll put my manual GR on the drag strip in september & i hope i wont be dissapointed comparing GPX times
no1. manual GR 96 l no2. tip GR 95 l no3. manual Gpx 95 l no.4 manual Gpx 95 l no.5 manual Gpx 96 l no.6 tip GR 95 - in 2011 took a break from the FTO scene

Yep, a top spec. 2004 111R model. Tried a few different models but nothing came even close to this spec for performance and usability, servo brakes, 6 speed gearbox etc. Engine is out of this world, it's like a turbo kicking in when you hit 6200rpm right up to redline at 8500.
As for next car, don't have a clue at the moment but it'll certainly be something more practical, it's a shame practicality and performance don't really mix too well.

The FTO is a reasonable compromise if you ask me - room for kids, baby seats, golf clubs etc with enough power on tap when you need it.

That's my view also - which is why I still have mine even though I have kids, golf clubs, kitesurfing gear/boards in tow on a regular basis.

Heck - I even moved house with nothing more than my FTO :o
