If anyone has a Garmin satnav this might be handy.
For €35 a year you can download the location of speed cameras straight to the device...

Are there really that many fixed speed cameras in Ireland right now to warrant this ? I'm not sure there is - and sure isn't there normally a sign to tell you that they're coming up.

I thought I heard before that there was about 10 in the whole country and that there were only a few with actual cameras in them ?

In a word No. However it also contains the preferred or usual locations of mobile speed traps, which is a much bigger list.

Kace, they all have cameras and will flash if you speed through, but only 10% have film at any one time... apparently the film is hugely expensive. Cannot believe they are not digital in my opinion. but thats what I heard. been flashed a few times, never got picture or fine in post.

I believe that the new ones are digital. I heard that the reason for film was that people could claim that the images were digitally altered in they were digital.

When the speed cameras are privatised next year there will be a lot of them and then a Garmin and a subscription will be essential.
