this is actually for CJ, the guys were saying that your car is really "tight" and solid.
What parts did you replace ?

Definitely, but I wonder would they be too harsh for our roads - I had koni's on a 205 gti and it was harsh. That's why I fitted Bilstein OE dampers to the golf - worked a treat.

I had Adjustable Teins on the Mazda and they were way too hard -
CJ - What did you use ? - the ride was very good for sports suspension.

Also - Are you running negative chamber? I presume you have also shortened the droplinks having lowered the car.

I guess its not any one thing but the combination of the package - I already changed the front and Rear ARB bushes and Front and Rear droplinks and added a front strut brace and I'm still not in the same ballpark handling wise - maybe the dampers and springs are a large part of the equation?

Well I don't know if you'd call them sports suspension, they're the standard set that Camskill sell. The rears are the same as a Colt\Mirage and the fronts are Volvo S40 dampers, believe it or not.

The camber is offset slightly negatively but I reckon thats a good thing in terms of handling. No noticable uneven tyre wear yet but I believe Rory has had this issue as he fitted the same shocks. If you wanted, you could get a set of camber bolts and adjust as required. On the droplink front, yes, they're shortened, they went in shortly before the full refit.

I'd be inclined to stay away from adjustable dampers for everyday driving.

I think camskills do a cheaper verison of adjustable suspension compared to the excessive cost of the tein setup.

KYB's dampers plus the lower springs of your choice work out very reasonably through funky styling.
