Without lacquer, the paint will chip and peel too easily. It looks better without, but it's needed to stop it from turning to crap. The whole centre console comes out. Be careful not to break the gaiters surround when removing. If you do, I have a spare, but a little caution goes a long way. After the gaitor surround is out, two screws hold in the clock surrounds at the end. Once out, a little tug will release the surrounds. Disconnect 5 wiring looms and the air hose. Screw out the air on controls and clocks. You can also remove the vents if you prefer and your good to prime and spray.
