Alloy Refurb..!

Postby gfalls » Mon Aug 18, 2008 11:14 am

Found a place here in Carlow that will refurb the original rims for €350, all in. He needs the car for 4 days.

Is that expensive? Any one know of a better deal?

Ta..! :)

Sounds expensive to me. Would you not put that towards a new set.

Personally, I'd do the job myself (which I plan on doing some time soon). Sandpaper and a few cans of paint aren't all that expensive.

Did they do as good a job as in McGons post above, if so it could be worth doing some Sherlock Holmes to locate the Navan crowd. It's closer than Newry too.

Is it 350 for one or 350 for the set? I thought by reading it first it was for the set not just one?

Was a couple of years ago but yeah their work was top notch...the wheel took a whack in a crash, but wasnt too far off balance....brought it back up as good as new. And they even had to weld in a chuck of metal the size of me thumb.

Will ask father moro if he remembers name of place.

€350 for doing all 4 wheels, and they will loan me a car while they have mine.

I suppose thats not too bad. the car for 4 days thing was putting me off. The reason I got mine part exchanged for fully returned ones was the 20 mins it took to change them. no leaving the car in etc. that works out about the same price as that place in carlow. did they come recommended?
