Speed Cameras

Postby CJ » Thu Mar 09, 2006 2:54 pm

I read an article in the Indo today regaring the installation of 800 speed cameras countrywide by next year, it will be operated by a private company who will forwarde non-fine payers info onto the Gardai. We shall wait and see how that one pans out (its ben talked about for a while now).

In the mean time, I suggest we organise a group buy!:

this might sound a bit stupid, but i dot have a clue how these speed cameras work.
which side do they snap u from the opposite side of the road or your side, (taking a photo of the back)
and why do they need flash during day....?

Looks interesting. Apparently you can become a 'dealer' if your first order is $450.00. They take Paypal payments. So they seem to be ok.
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine'.

These sprays have been around for awhile now.. I know they work - but I also know that if you get caught driving around with a sprayed plate there'll be a fine to pay.. Not sure about points and stuff..

Now - how will they catch me? I hear you ask..
well..It'll take a camera car..I'm not sure how many of these the Irish Gardai have... I'm assuming they don't bother sticiking much gear in their Fiestas and silly little toyotas (forgot the model..you know the one..slightly bigger than a micra)...

I must say the prospect of another 800 speedcams isn't something I relish..

Unless your the first registered owner of the car they would have to prove that it was you and not the previous owner who did it, also i could buy a can and spray your reg. without you knowing , and then report you to the gardai ! a very hard case to prove !!!

If they are to be "fixed" gatso cameras, then a gps system like "road angel" would be best
