Well in fairness I'm from West Cork and I've driven to meets in Kilkenny, Wexford, Dublin, Limerick, Galway, and Northern Ireland, in fact all over Ireland. And once with Bernard and Colm to a meet on the east side of England, where we drove the breadth of Ireland, got the ferry to Wales, drove through Wales, and then the breadth of England. Its the driving is the best part of meets. Understandably times are tougher now than a couple of years ago when we could all easily pay for petrol for long journeys without worrying about the remainder of cash left in the bank account for loans, mortgage repayments, etc., but if you travel to a meet in convoy it makes it a much more worthwhile experience instead of sitting in a car park somewhere for an hour and heading home on your own. You still get to look at everyone's cars and have a chat on the long meets, many times cause we stop for photos, coffee, and wind down the evenings with a nice creamy pint if staying over. Its a social event more-so than anything else.
