New exhaust looks well M.E. almost chose that one myself, opted for 5" single. No regrets she gives a lovely roar :D

yes the two mods combined would give you more "horsey's" than the individual figures for each mod added together. e.g say for talks sake the ITG gives you 4 bhp and the Bluflame 7 bhp added together you get a figure of 11 bhp. but both mods working in sync with one another could yield say 14bhp. Hope that didn't come across patronising :) p.s. if you have an induction kit like ITG important to have a cold air intake also

Wow

That's 11 BHP higher than any FTO (with all types of mods <non-Turbo of course>) I've ever seen on the rolling road !!!

Was there any other FTOs there that got measured ?

@ Seb ya he said 130 would be a more accurate road speed..... but sure ill never see that end so it doesnt really matter!!!

@Kace my car was pretty high to start with 196.1bhp with just the ITG filter on (which prob doesnt add or lose any horsies!) so i have a pretty good engine to work with :D i was expecting it to be about 10-15bhp higher and it was 12 so that seems about right.

@dan its about 160 at the wheels. how come your girlfiend didnt come yesterday? u getting the turbo dyno'd??

What year is your car M-E, I would have expected a car to lose hp through age, and I always thought that the larger the exhaust bore that it doesnt increase hp it actually slightly decreases it as the area is larger than the standard exhaust. The ITG I would have thought all right to push it up, I presume if its getting large increases its a cold air intake as a hot air intake can sometimes bring it down, (open to correction?) , but wouldnt have expected a readout of 210 nearly! Thats pretty impressive though!!

All results are dependant upon the rolling road that you're using....

I'd have to take the above with a pinch of salt as there were no other FTO's to compare to, I had my car on the rollers in Westward at it came out at 333bhp, then went to CDA about a month later and it came out at 306bhp!!!

I don't wanna rain on your parade Lou but I can't help but comment:

I was dissapointed that that dyno operator wouldn't share inforrmation on what he did to get the power up so much on the second run, electronic genius or dyno hocus pocus? Who knows. Also, he had no explanation on how a speed limited car managed to reach 160 mph, I should have pushed him more!

CJ - you've also been to several rolling road days over the years and I think you'll agree with me (at least for Westward Engineering) that no FTO ever exceeded the factory specified 197 bhp output (no matter what type of exhaust, induction, fuel additives etc. were used).

We even did a test one day where a guy did a test with and without an ITG Induction filter on the car - the bhp reading went down 1-2 bhp after he put the induction filter on

Pity we didn't have anyone else there with an FTO that has been tested at Westward also. Sounds like the only thing here that will silence the critics is a return trip to Westward to see what this car is 'putting out' on the other rolling road.

ill prob get it done some day in TDP too....

as for extremes being a bit generous, there was a lad there with an rx7 who was expecting 400 and only get 340....... and another lad who had previously gotten 350 and got 344 that day... i dunno really im getting my rsm fitted next month so might take a trip to tdp to get it done again...... maybe a club day out????

no offence now laura but did you not once claim that your car was 210bhp with just an induction kit?? my car may be older but has a well maintained engine so as far as im aware if the engine is good the ponies stay where they are!

@CJ i duno what he did either but it DEFFO revved higher the second time..... I have time it on the videos and all! Once of the lads reckons he might have done the first run in 5th (same thing happened to him and he redid it in fourth and it was right the second time) maybe the "plug pulling" was his was of covering up a fook up on his part!! :?

No doubt about it, the second run definetely sounded 'healthier'. It doesn't explain the 160mph quoted speed (although a derestricted GPX should be capable of this on the dyno).

As per Kace, its my experience that exhaust and induction mods alone have very little measured impact on the FTO's performance. I've only ever witnessed an FTO peaking at 197bhp - as I remember, this completely bog standard.
