this is the car i was looking at a couple year ago before this owner bought it.
was in tallaght area.(previous owner lived beside my aunt) had no nct and looks like it still hasnt any as far as i can remember present owner had a test date in january.. mileage looked dodgy plus i got wind off someone that there was a problem with one of the axles(could be wrong tho.) . took it for a drive when looking at it roll cage was fitted so this owner has put the rear seats in and all interior panels into back. all other extras mention were on the car, brake upgrade,exhaust, coilovers, alloys alarm etc. there was sparco buckets in it before but must say bodywork is immaculate. but if considering in buying must get checkover.

The wear on the steering wheel alone (see pic) would tell you this FTO has done well in excess of 21,000miles.

Other than that it looks like a nice example at that money - absolutely agree though on getting this FTO up on a ramp and checked out and questioning the wear vs mileage.

Don't think the Aero versions are digital.
Its def a GX engine if the dial counter rev limit is anything to go by.

i text the owner yesterday, he never put it through the nct because the crank sensor went on it,so he said

Apart from the mileage, which is a very suspect thing, and a missing radio, I dont think its so bad for that money. It is a 98, and looks pretty spotless to me from the pics, but true it would need to be looked at carefully before buying.
Would the mileage be explained by it being a different dial unit fitted afterwards no? Where does the unit get the info about the mileage, from the computer in the car or is there a chip for storing the info in the dials themselves somewhere?

The speedo stores the kms so swapping unit swaps total. The auction sheet would have the mileage when it left Japan. Still no guaruntee that it wasn't clocked before auction. I'd still consider this one if I was in the market and wasn't mad for mivec
