Rear window wiper

Postby Hercules Q. Einstein » Thu Jul 26, 2007 8:10 am

My FTO is armed for a rear window wiper.
Got the stalk control, wiring loom to boot, hole in back shelf etc.

Problem is that the (apparantly) replacement rear windscreen doesn't
have a hole for the wiper.

Can a hole be made or am I missing something and there shouldn't even be a hole in the rear windscreen?

as far as I'm aware there are two different rear-wndows - one with a little half-moon to accodate the wiper and one without it..

If you have the wrong one on - you will need to change the whole thing..
To be honest - I wouldn't bother..

I have a rear wiper - but I rarely use it..and it bugs me when I wash the car..

An FTO has a cleaner look to the rear without the rear wiper. I wouldn't bother either.

Not having a rear wiper cost me 300+ Euro when I reversed into my neighbours car a while back........just out of bed - rear window covered in rain and dew............Can't leave the house now without checking all around me and wiping off the window..............rear wiper is something I'd like now

Eek - that's some hard luck right there matey. I suppose if you don't have your own drive and/or time to let the window heat work it's magic it might be beneficial to have the rear wiper..

Unless you can find a rear window (try rory) and the rest of the bits for cheap it's gonna cost..

Alternatively swap cars with somebody who has one..

What spec you have? ;-)
