All GPvR's are "lightweight"

Compared to an identically engined GPX, the GPvR gains a different spoiler, Limited Slip Diff, coloured seats, HID headlights, strut braces, and loses sound insulation, elec folding mirrors and climate control.

maybe there are more differences

Aero series differences are just cosmetic AFAIK.

Presume the 1.8 is the lightest, but that's hardly much help with 125bhp.

No major difference in GPvR spec weights. In fact theres not much of a weight saving on the GPvR over a GPX in any case - 20 kgs.

FWIW - my manual GPX was considerably lighter than a GPvR after I finished with it.

ok, so basically theres very little difference between a GPX, GPvR and an Aero series, bar comestics?? And the GPvR and Aero lose Climate control and folding mirrors to save 20kgs? Seems very little in the difference, but what do i know...

Yeah its more than a sticker difference alright.

GPvR has a few differences:

Different springs over the GPX,
Different suspension setup and droplinks,
Strut braces front and rear,
Larger spoiler,
Limited slip differential,
No climate control (but has aircon),
Less soundproofing for weight saving,
HIDs as standard,
Manual gearbox version is lighter than autobox,
Coloured seats (red or blue)
No folding mirrors
MOMO leather 3 spokes steering wheel

(I have ralliart pedals too, but not sure if thats standard on GPvR)

did I miss any differences?

your right actually. the passion red Vr has all black seats...

Maud, I dunno if its standard. I have air con button but not digital climate control.

Climate control wasn't on the GPvR, so you're perfectly normal!

McG is correct.
GPvR has aircon as it saves weight over the more extensive climate control system.

However the 3 spoke momo can be found on a variety of other similar age FTO's regardless of model type.

The big plus IMO with having a GPvR over a GPX is the LSD and the HIDs.
However the idea that the GPvR is a "lightweight" FTO is a bit of a misconception. Its very easy to strip 20kgs from a GPX. My GPX weighted far less than a standard GPvR (circa 1100kgs).
