Vandalised!

Postby fatboyfat7 » Tue Dec 16, 2008 5:17 pm

Im fair pissed off today... Last night I was parked in the city (round the corner from the Bailey) and when I came back some scumbag had walked up my car, as in over the bonnet, and up up the windscreen. I could see the foot prints. Now I can only assume the same person is responsible for my spoiler being battered and hanging off! Only noticed it this morning. Id say driving with it like that last night made it much worse but I didnt know at the time. It was only being held on by two clips! I just took it off there and contacted my panel beater. Theres other bodywork needs doing aswell so if theres any way of getting a positive out of this, its the timing of it all. He's booked solid to Christmas but he said to take it down to him in the morning and he'll see what he can do. Wish I could have caught them doing it... As Vincent Vega says in Pulp Ficiton... 'It would have been worth him doing it, just so i could have caught him...!' Pity its not true though... And for those of you from cork, i think there may have been something on in Bondi Beach last night so the scumbags would have been around alright.. Im just sickened.

that's fairly upsetting alright. It's a sickener when some idiots 20 seconds of fun equates to a weeks wages.

Scumbags never seize to amaze me. Only consolation is that with an attitude like that it won't take long for him to get his comeupence.

Aw poor Chris, the unluckiest man in Ireland!!

If it's any consolation he probably smokes and will get a agonizingly slow death. Or bad karma will bite him on the ar$e some day. And it will leave a chunk missing.

I reiterate, contact the guards re CCTV...

You'd think that would be a great idea alright - probably not though as the cops won't have any inclination to go after something so petty.

I had my apartment robbed a few years back and the caretaker showed me the footage of the guy breaking in. Cops didn't even bother their holes to look at the footage where you could actually see the guy.

Jesus bad break chris, though I always park in the Q-Park when in cork for a night or evening, would never park anywhere around washington street anyway!! Cant trrust knackers around the place, and that place is full of students, (not saying anything about students I was one too at one stage!!) and coming up to christmas exams are finishing.
I was talking to an owner of a dbs (aston martin) down home last weekend, (same parish as the Healy Pass for those who went on the west cork meet), he had his car in the area few months ago and left it outside the local pub in glengarriff and it got keyed! Jealousy is a killer!

Sorry to hear Chris

I (stupidly, in hind sight) parked near enough to the main street one thursday night and came back to find footprints on the bonnet and sunroof.

Amazingly no damage done just the prints left behind.

If I saw whoever did it....

Thanks for the sympathy. The damage isnt too bad to be honest, the spoiler is in 2 pieces now I got it off but it should go back together. It'll def need a respray too. Didnt contact the gaurds cause at the time I didnt notice it. And where I parked I doubt theres camera. And as a few of ye said, students in town, coming up to X mas etc. Itsnot like anyone will get caught. I think this is more a lesson of parking awareness.[/i]

I know ye may have broken the speed limit a few thimes, but don't be so hard on yourself :D

How about I change the sentence to: being rolled over by a bus and then the bus mistakingly rolling over him again reversing back to see what he hit...? Better? :D

Much better! I know you didn't mean anything bad by it, it just came across as insensitive given the number of people that have lost people to cancer, myself included.

I've lost people to it too. New Years Resolution: CJ and Colm to give up smoking!!

Back on topic, did you manage to fix the spoiler back on Chris without much crying?

As DragonHeart says, I always use the Q park Its worth It for the piece of mind alone!
I was with a person who came back to their car to find the rear side window smashed and a rock on the back seat, that happened on the same street ,so its just mindless :x

Got my quote today....

To take out dent on drivers side,
respray that panel,
remove scratch on front bumper,
fix holes on bootlid,
respray bootlid,
respray back bumper,
respray and reattach spoiler...

Guess how much... €600!! I'm delighted with it! And he's done work for me before on the Civic and it was perfect. Only problem is he's full untill January 5th, But seriously though, how good a price is that!

he's good alright, its a full proper set up. Hes based in the ferry port in Ringaskiddy. He often fixes scratches on cars being imported if they got a small nick on transit. Thats what I was told anyway and as I said, i was very happy with the job on Civic before. Its a really job price tho, delighted with it.
