Wanted: Rear pads for GPX

Postby Muad_dib77 » Mon Sep 11, 2006 3:54 pm

Lads - it's aboot time that I change my rear pads..

Before I order a set online I was wondering if any of yous locals or semi local had a set lying around.

Or Perhaps know of a shop I can go to and pick up a pair..

I've heard good things about the Greens stuff and the EBC organics..

Any feedback/comments would be appreciated.

Bump..

I have a slot at DTAS on saturday - but have not been able to get hold of a pair of rear pads..

If anybody has a pair lying about I'd be happy to pay up..

Oh yeah - I did check hellfords but they dont' really know what and FTO is, and certainly not what rear brakes fit it..

Clueless monkies...

EBC Green Stuff are about as hard as you are going to need on standard disks - there are several Irish suppliers that should have them in stock should you need them in a hurry. Honestly though - the rear brakes do such little braking (approx 15-20%) that you probably won't notice the difference with OEM rear pads.

I have the green stuff pads aswell...my god they are the business, the mechanic tested them after fitting them and said he nearly got stuck to the windscreen when he applied them.

Wish I had the same problem with Greenstuff! I only find them average. Reckon I need to look at sticking in braided brake lines to tighten things up a bit, changed the fluid last year to no avail.

Must resist! Told myself some time ago that I wouldn't spend any more cash on modding the FTO but when it comes to brakes, theres no compromise - I'll keep it in mind David....

I find them very very good, was very surprised to be honest. Yes it would be even better if there were braided hoses, but you are right if you are going down the road of complete up grade, get those lovely Brembos on. I had them On my R1 and the thing would stop on a penny..
